Week 6 in Brest

I apologize for this last post lateness: it took me several days to upload the videos and pictures taken, but they’re finally here!

Our last week in France was charged with memories of the Fete the Famille (Farewell party)

Thank you to all the families who were reading this blog and good continuation with all your endeavors. I was very glad to keep you posted about our time in France. Team Brest was happy to shortly narrate their adventures during these six and a half weeks.

All the best for all of you!

Week 5 in Brest

This last-but-one week has been more centered on our last days of school and in preparing for the Farewell Party (on Wednesday July 22nd) : we continue rehearsing for theater, choir, dances and some individual performances from the students.

We had a short visit to the Musee de la Marine (click here for some information http://www.musee-marine.fr/content/brest-musee-de-la-marine). However my camera was having some difficulties and I could not use it on Monday.

By Friday I had it fixed and we went bowling together: students, host families and instructors.

Next Friday July 24th will be leaving from Brest and heading to Paris. We can’t believe how quickly it all went!

All students are doing great and keeping themselves busy with rehearsals and very soon packing for Paris.

Week 3 in Brest

It is hard to believe, but we have already been in France for 3 weeks. Students and host families are more comfortable with each other and share beautiful moments that will last a lifetime.

This week we had lots of fun learning how to do the Breton Dance

Organizing and preparing for the Farewell Party is a must. We also started with some salsa moves.

Week 1 in Brest

We have been in France for a week already! Time flies, our French skills are constantly challenged and, as a result, improving. Taking culture, grammar, linguistics and literature classes takes our mornings. Having wonderful and delicious gourmet meals at l’AILE gives us energy to keep going in the afternoons. Leisure time to explore the city of Brest enables us to tap into our adventurous side. And dinner and conversations with host families nurtures our connection to family. We also went on excursion to La Pointe de Pen-Hir and the city of Concarneau.

Next week we’ll start with afternoon activities in preparation for the farewell party. Choir, dancing, theater and more will take us more in depth into French history, art, melody and fun.

A picture is worth a thousand words. So instead of writing a book, we have decided to share the following link:

Arrival in Brest

Yes, we finally made it to Brest!!  All students are safe and cozy with their host families and eager to continue learning French in a real French-speaking environment, surrounded by beautiful landscapes, sites full of history and delicious meals.

More to come next week!
